Einziger Punkt Pro-"Miss Teen South Carolina": Nervosität.

Ein Blick in ihren Kopf:
"Oh shit, a question... I thought I just have to look pretty. I have no clue. I think I, like, wouldn't know either... What did they say? - 'Don't even try to be smart. Just use the buzzwords' - ... Humm, buzzwords, buzzwords... Damn, how could I possibly remember? I don't even know the name of the guy from last night any more... Oh, right, got it: America, World, Iraq, Africa, Future... but why the hell didn't anyone friggin' tell me how to, like, put them together?"

Lauren Caitlin Upton, 18, got a chance to redeem herself Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show when she was again asked why one-fifth of Americans cannot locate the United States on a map.

"I would love to re-answer that question," the Miss Teen South Carolina said. "Well personally, my friends and I, we know exactly where the United States is on our map. I don't know anyone else who doesn't. And if the statistics are correct, I believe there should be more emphasis on geography."
